I recently rewatched Hot Fuzz and was again struck by how well the film's soundtrack enhances the viewing experience. One track that stood out this time was "Village Green" by The Kinks. Its wistful sound perfectly captures the movie's mood as it follows police officer Nicholas Angel adjusting to life in the small English village of Sandford. The N.W.A. in the film attempts to protect the old way of life in the village, and the song foreshadows this also. Hot Fuzz is full of these sorts of perfectly placed needle drops that immerse you deeper in the story.
